MC-HD1 Studio and MC-HD1 Basic Universal Media Converter are developed to convert and scale HD or SD input signals to many output signals for use in a variety of different applications. They are ideally suited as front-end to non-linear editing (NLE) or as video conversion and scaling tool for live-production or post-production. MC-HD1 Studio and MC-HD1 Basic feature HD/SD-SDI, HDMI, component, composite (SD) and Y/C (SD), embedded audio, unbalanced/balanced audio, dual channel AES/EBU digital audio inputs and outputs. In addition, deinterlacing/ interlacing, frame-rate conversion, audio embed/de-embed, SD/HD up/down scaling and adaptive audio delay compensation for increased flexibility. MC-HD1 Studio and MC-HD1 Basic are packaged in a compact 1RU chassis with a backlit LCD display with an easy to use scroll wheel for menu navigation, settings and status. Settings can be controlled and viewed using the MC-HD1's built in web server via a simple network connection from any web browser. External devices such as VTR's can be controlled via RS422 and outputs which are genlocked1. MC-HD1 Studio and MCHD1 Basic allow you to combine most diverse devices that are being used in system and production houses as well as in broadcast stations. Numerous Inputs and Outputs as well as many downscaling (HD to SD), upscaling (SD to HD) and cross-scaling (various HD among each other e. g. 720p to 1080i) functions make MC-HD1 Studio and MC-HD1 Basic ideal for SD and HD environments and connect these video standards. A powerful scaling engine provides 16-Bit accuracy, 128-phase FIR Filters, 13 tap horizontal and 9 tap vertical filtering. The MC-HD1 Studio's and MC-HD1 Basic's deinterlacing function works enhanced speed and noise adaptive. Additional picture enhancement functions include MPEG DVD chroma bug concealment, advanced film mode detection and compensation, mosquito noise, and block artifact reduction.
